2022.11.02 Cross Country: VHSL Region 4C Championships

Leesburg, VA (November 2, 2022) - This year's Region 4C cross country races were marked by unseasonably warm weather. Warm enough that everyone was wearing shorts and singlets, and the pace was fast on the beautiful Morven Park course. Teams and individuals from the Dulles and Northwestern districts met to battle for regional crowns as well as placement in the upcoming state meet.

The girls race was first, and Cassidy Scott (Fauquier) took top honors in 17:50 followed closely by Michaela Workman (Tuscarora), just nine seconds behind in 17:59. Tuscarora captured the team title easily with four runners in the top ten.

The boys race was won by Garrett Stickley (Handley) in 15:15 with teammate Will Pardue right behind at 15:22. Capturing the top two spots pretty much guaranteed Handley the team championship, outpacing runner-up Tuscarora.

Chas Sumser Photography was there to capture the action and emotion and posted a gallery of images from the races.
