2022.09.24 Cross Country: Oatlands Invitational

Leesburg, VA (September 24, 2022) - On a cool, early-Autumn Saturday morning over one hundred high school cross country teams gathered for the annual Oatlands Invitational, one of the premier events on a spectacular and challenging course.

In the Varsity A Boys race, Charlie Ortmans (the Potomac School) took first place while Blacksburg won the team competition. Loudoun Valley was the top LCPS team, finishing in eighth place.

In the Varsity A Girls race, Gillian Bushee (Herndon) was the winner. Wooton took the team title with Tuscarora finishing strong in fourth place.

Tarek Benlamkaddem of Broad Run was the only LCPS competitor to win his race, finishing first in the JV Upperclass Boys event, the first of the day. Thea Motes and Molly Magoon, of Independence, finished second and third, respectively, in the JV Underclass girls race.
