2021.10.02 Cross Country: Judges Classic

Winchester, VA (October 2, 2021) - The solemn grounds of the first and second Civil War battles of Kernstown frame one of the most beautiful and challenging high school cross country courses in Northern Virginia. While most teams train on flat to rolling courses, this one demands that the competitors climb three big hills including one long one in the final half mile. By that time, even the refreshing sight of a straight downhill to the finish is a meager reward for the grueling course the runners have just navigated. Luckily, the early October weather was just about perfect and didn't add to the challenge the course had already served up.

Top 5 LCPS Team Finishers

For varsity girls, it was Riverside in 4th. In the varsity boys race, Loudoun County was the highest LCPS finisher in 3rd place with Dominion in 5th. In the JV girls race, Loudoun Valley (1), Loudoun County (2), Independence (3), and Dominion (5) all had top five team finishes. In the final race of the day, the event with the largest field of runners, the Heritage JV boys took 2nd while Independence and Dominion took 3rd and 4th, respectively.
