Sterling, VA (June 16, 2021) - Entering this regional semifinal, the Dominion Titans were the odds-on favorites. An undefeated regular season will do that.

The Titans' opponent, the Loudoun Valley Vikings had completed their own excellent regular season, finishing at 7-3 overall, but they had been on the short end of a 17-3 decision when the two teams met in early May.

The question was: would this game be a different story?

Chas Sumser Photography was there to capture the action and emotion and posted a gallery of images from the game.

And for a few minutes it looked like the answer would be, "yes." The Vikings actually had the edge on the Titans as they pushed the ball toward the Dominion goal. And, suddenly, they got one by stalwart goalkeeper Justin Mann for an unexpected 1-0 lead.

And that was about it for Loudoun Valley.

From that point, Dominion went on a tear, amassing seventeen straight goals. Led by super sophomores Will Wajsgras and Henry Fleckner, the Titan attack simply punished the Loudoun Valley net. By the time the Vikings scored again, with just two minutes remaining in the game, it was all but over. It's not that Valley played poorly, it's that Dominion has an exceptional combination of superb goaltending, strong defense, and marksmen for attackers.

Loudoun Valley's season comes to an end, while Dominion advances as expected to the Region 4C championship.

Final Score: Dominion 17 - Loudoun Valley 3
