Purcellville, VA (October 2, 2019) - Just another crisp, cool early Autumn day for run on a beautiful course under excellent conditions... Well, not so much.

The reality was that this mid-season four-team meet was held in weather more typical of early summer. With scorching temperatures in the 90's, the athletes had to work hard, but by now their bodies were used to this kind of heat.

Top runners from Dominion, Independence, Loudoun Valley, and Tuscarora largely did not run in this race as many were resting up for a big test at the Great American Cross Country Festival. But their absence gave others a chance to test their limits and lead their teams.

Chas Sumser Photography was there to capture the action and emotion and posted a gallery of images from the meet. All photos were taken just before the two-mile mark--for a unique perspective on athletic performance.
